Our rugs are handcrafted. Each piece is cut by hand, so the size may vary slightly.

The fringes are included in the rug measurements:

The measurements correspond to the base, not including fringes, tassels, pompoms or braids.

Can I order a custom size rug?

We do not manufacture to custom order; however, at Happy Decor Kids we have a variety of sizes, shapes and styles so you can find the one that best suits your situation.

Care

Can I use robot vacuum cleaners?

Yes!

What type of soap should I use when washing my rug or accessory:

We recommend you use a mild soap, without bleach or softeners to avoid any possible impact on the material or color of the product. You can find more details in our washing and care instructions.

Can I use fabric softener to wash my rugs and accessories?

Fabric softener contains chemical components that can damage rugs and accessories, so it is not advisable to use them during washing. You can find more details in our washing and care instructions.

Can I wash my cushions?

Of course! Our cushions are machine washable. For some of them, you will only have to put them directly in the washing machine. The outer cover is 100% cotton and the filling is 100% polyester.

For other cushions, just wash the cover and remove the filling with the zipper. Be sure to use a gentle cycle, and a maximum temperature of 30ºC. See our washing and care instructions for more details.

Can I put my rug and cushions in the dryer?

Yes, both washable rugs and cushions can be put in a dryer, as long as you use a low temperature. Drying washable rugs in a dryer will make their texture even softer and fluffier. Before using it for the first time, we recommend that you put the rug in the dryer for 10 minutes at a low temperature to remove wrinkles that form during packing. You can find more details in our washing and care instructions.

Can I store my rug?

If you want to retire your rug for a while, you can fold it and store it in a closet or any place that is not damp or in direct sunlight. You can also roll it up to avoid wrinkles from folding; but if it is folded for a long time, you can put it in a dryer on a short program and the wrinkles will disappear.

Features

Do rugs and accessories lose color after washing?

The color is fixed during the manufacturing process, so it is not a problem to wash the product as many times as necessary. However, we recommend washing the rug or accessory separately, as it may lose some color during the first few washes as a result of the excess cotton that remains between the fibers after polishing the product. For more details, please refer to our washing and care instructions.

Can I put my rug in the sun?

Sunlight can damage the color of the rugs, as they are made with 100% natural cotton and artisan dyes, so we recommend avoiding prolonged exposure to sunlight. You can find more details in our washing and care instructions.

Can I leave the rug or cushion in the washing machine?

We recommend that you immediately take the rug out of the washing machine when the washing program is finished, and spread it out in a dry place to dry, or put it directly into the dryer at low temperature. Under no circumstances should you leave a wet rug in the washing machine after washing, because the moisture can cause the colors to run, damaging the original dyes of the rug.

Don't forget that our dyes are natural, non-toxic and made with artisan methods. Your rug will not lose its color after washing, because all dyes are fixed during the manufacturing process. However, it is a handmade and delicate product that, like any natural cotton fabric, requires special care to keep it looking like new. See our washing and care instructions for more details.

Will my basket lose its shape if I put it in the washing machine?

It is recommended not to wash to prevent it from losing its initial shape. Don't worry if lint appears, as this is fiber residue produced when the cotton is cut. If you find long or loose threads, cut them with scissors. Never pull the threads. You can find more details in our washing and care instructions.

My rug is shedding lint, is this normal?

Our rugs are 100% natural and are made in an artisan manufacturing process, so the material can shed lint. Each rug is hand woven and the details are finished with scissors. Lint is the cotton fiber that can get trapped in the weave after the final touches are put on the rug.

To avoid lint, we recommend brushing the carpet in the direction of the fiber to gradually remove any debris that may be left behind. You can also use a vacuum cleaner frequently during the first few weeks. See our washing and care instructions for more details.

My rug is not the same color as on the web:

Like all other parts of the manufacturing process, the dyes used in our rugs and accessories are handcrafted. The dyes are natural and are boiled in water, before being used to dye the cotton. Therefore, the final color may vary slightly. You can find more details in our washing and care instructions.

My rug is lighter than I expected:

Washable rugs need to have the flexibility to be put in the washing machine. We have cotton rugs in different thicknesses, but they are all lightweight and can be easily moved from one place to another. This makes them more practical, not only because they can be washed at home whenever necessary, but also because you can change their location depending on your needs.

My rug has fold marks, how do I remove them?

These types of marks are caused by folding the rug and storing it for a while. Before using it for the first time, we recommend that you put it in a dryer for 10 minutes at a low temperature to remove the fold marks created during packing. If you do not have access to a tumble dryer, a quick cycle in a washing machine will achieve the same effect. See our washing and care instructions for more details.
